Meet Dr. Timothy Gailey, DMD

If you are looking for a dentist who listens, takes the time to explain, and actually enjoys this work — you are in the right place.

Dr. Timothy Gailey, DMD

Dr. Timothy Gailey, DMD

Dr. Timothy Gailey has been practicing dentistry in Chandler, Arizona since 2004. In that time, he has built Gateway Family Dentistry into a practice that handles just about everything under one roof — from a toddler's first checkup to full-arch dental implants, from routine cleanings to IV sedation for patients who have avoided the dentist for years.

He believes that a family dentist should be able to do more than just the basics. That belief is why he has spent over 600 hours in continuing dental education, earned some of the highest credentials available to a general dentist, and invested in the training and technology to keep complex cases in-house rather than sending patients elsewhere.

Education & Credentials

Dr. Gailey earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) in Portland, Oregon — one of the top dental programs in the country.

Since graduating, he has pursued continuous education well beyond what is required for licensure. His advanced training spans dental implant placement and restoration, IV sedation, pediatric dentistry, special needs care, oral surgery, and cosmetic dentistry.

AGD Mastership Award

In 2022, Dr. Gailey was awarded the Mastership Award from the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD)— one of dentistry's highest recognitions for a general practitioner. Fewer than 2% of dentists in the United States achieve this distinction.

The Mastership requires a minimum of 600 hours of continuing dental education across 16 different clinical disciplines, plus passing a comprehensive written examination. It demonstrates a depth and breadth of clinical knowledge that goes far beyond what licensure requires.

Dr. Gailey also earned his AGD Fellowship in 2012, which requires 500 hours of continuing education and passing the Fellowship exam.

These credentials are not just letters after a name. They represent a commitment to being a better dentist every single year — and that commitment directly benefits the patients who sit in his chair.

Philosophy of Care

Dr. Gailey's approach to patient care comes down to a few core beliefs:

Listen first.

Every patient has a different story, different concerns, and different goals. Some come in nervous. Some come in with years of avoided dental work. Some just need a cleaning. The first step is always to listen and understand what a patient actually needs — not just clinically, but personally.

Explain everything.

If you sit in Dr. Gailey's chair, you will know what is happening, why it is happening, and what your options are. No jargon, no pressure, no decisions made for you.

Keep it in-house.

The typical dental office refers patients out for implants, oral surgery, and complex sedation cases. Dr. Gailey has invested in the training to handle these in our Chandler office — which means fewer offices to visit, fewer repeat consultations, and treatment from a team that already knows you.

Make it accessible.

Dr. Gailey speaks both English and Spanish. The practice welcomes patients with special needs, dental phobias, and complex medical histories. Everyone deserves quality dental care.
