Process

What to Expect

1

First Visit & Getting Comfortable

Your child's first visit focuses on getting to know our team and the office. We do a gentle exam, count teeth, and make sure your child feels safe and comfortable.

2

Cleaning & Prevention

Regular visits include gentle cleanings, fluoride treatments, and dental sealants when appropriate to protect against cavities.

3

Education & Home Care

We teach kids (and parents) proper brushing and flossing techniques, and discuss nutrition tips for healthy developing teeth.

4

Ongoing Growth Monitoring

Dr. Gailey monitors your child's dental development, watches for alignment issues, and recommends treatment if needed as permanent teeth come in.

Making Dental Visits Fun for Kids

We know that a trip to the dentist can feel scary for little ones. That's why we've designed our approach around making kids feel comfortable from the moment they walk through the door. Our team greets every child with warmth and patience, and we use age-appropriate language to explain each step of their visit.

For younger children, we use a 'tell-show-do' method — we explain what we're going to do, show them the tools we'll use, and then gently perform the procedure. This approach builds trust and reduces anxiety. Many of our young patients actually look forward to their dental visits!

We also educate parents on at-home oral hygiene techniques, proper nutrition for developing teeth, and when to expect milestones like losing baby teeth and eruption of permanent teeth.
